Is it strange to find out about the interconnection between the Virtual PBX VOIP and your Ethernet connection? Well, it may sound strange but VOIP services on most of the communication media are carried over some form of Ethernet or LAN network. Thus, these two ends need to meet in order to make your Virtual PBX run seamlessly over VOIP. Digging deeper into Ethernet, we can analyze that this system is a single cable system that is used to connect various computers together. In this network, device distinction can be achieved through the MAC address of the various devices connected.

The reason why Hosted PBX VOIP runs hand in hand with Ethernet is that VOIP is a channel that requires transfer of voice and data packets over an internet based network. If the speed is slow, there may be a number of problems that may be noticed. If there is jitter or delay in the transmission and receipt of packets or there is one-sided call, then it is an indication that the quality is being hindered due to some activity over the network. Most of the entrepreneurial firms support VOIP based communication through Virtual PBX by integrating internet with the existing network.

What happens in that case? When the internet bandwidth is not specifically divided, both the business operations as well as the calls made via Hosted PBX systems are routed through the same channel. So, whenever there is some download activity going on or massive browsing, the VOIP call quality is likely to undergo fluctuations. This is because there is limited bandwidth that has to be utilized in a balanced way. The use of a dedicated T1 line for carrying the VOIP traffic is thus suggested. This line is used to allot dedicated channel for VOIP calls.

Small Business PBX usage makes it possible to utilize the public network to transfer data and voice packets over the internet channel. This infrastructure is a great boon for the small business enterprises as they can utilize all the Virtual PBX capabilities through VOIP by investing a small amount. So, business enterprises can take the decision of internet setup so that they may find it comfortable. Due to the usage of mobile devices, the LAN connection may also be made available as a wireless network. This would however require the use of wireless points that may enable access for a number of mobile devices.
